Deep in the darkest mountains of Scotland, there were lands that dragons no longer roamed. The dragons had all been morphed into the soil, only their heads came up from the ground. In these heads lived families. But deeper into the mountains lived more than just families. These dragons were never proven to be stable under the ground, meaning they could arise at any moment in time. The ones who lived there were not families but scientists. In different research areas different subjects were studied. But others had not seen what they were capable of.
One scientist in particular was having problems of her own. She tested animals; morphed animals, into different species or monsters that would scare others away. Jennifer was the name of the woman. She was very proud of her work, because she was often looked down upon for being a woman, though she would not let those thoughts bother her.
Jennifer kept many animals in her head, although she could not understand them. Like most humans, they can't talk to animals. She was working on a project that would make the animal speak in their language. Little did she know, the animals had other plans. The plot was originating from a dog named Rekall. He was at one point a fox terrier, but he had been experimented on by the woman. He has various additions to his body, such as an alligator tail, and a robotic leg. He also has been sliced in half and reconnected with wires and a few other technical pieces. Half of his face is now robotic, along with a robotic collar.
Rekall was discussing his plans to two other animals in the pins. There was an ocelot named Dante, and a dog named Timothy. Dante had yet to be tested, but Timothy had a hole in his side. The scientist had cut a hole inside of him and his stomach muscle had formed with his side muscle, so there was a hole there. She experimented on him quite often, because she was learning about how the stomach of a dog devours the food. Rekall was done being a guinea pig and he was ready to be a dog. "We live in some sort of dragon, I believe we are living in the dragon's head," Rekall exclaimed to the other animals.
"So we break out of our cages and run for it, it's that simple!" Timothy called, his childish voice echoing through the three cages.
Rekall snapped at Timothy, "And let the white coats catch us again? I'm not ready to die." Scientists were what the animals referred to as white coats.
Dante shivered at the thought of dying, "Well we are too small to save an entire room of animals, and kill the white coat," he mentioned briefly.
Rekall smirked, contempt spreading across his face, "Exactly. That's what we are going to use the dragon for," He chuckled.
Timothy cocked his head, "How are we going to get the dragon to kill only the white coat and save all the animals? And tell me, how do you suppose we are going to tell the dragon to only kill her and to-" Timothy was cut off by Rekall.
"Just shush up! You will know when we arrive at that point in time, for now, just stay calm," Rekall growled, with a sharp flick of his thick tail.
"How are we going to stay calm after you exploited your feelings onto us and left us hanging by a thread?" Dante hissed, now becoming angry with Rekall's lack of information.
"Because I haven't got that far in the plan yet. Just give me until tomorrow morning and-" Rekall was then cut off by Dante.
"Tomorrow morning? By then I could be dragon food. You have to find out a plan by tonight and we need to construct the observations while the white coats are asleep, so that she doesn't know what we are up to," Dante announced, dropping his rump on the hard floor of his cage.
"You think this is all about you?" Rekall snapped at Dante, before Timothy broke up the fight.
"Guys, guys, stop this madness! If we are going to save a soul we better get along. I think we need to generate the ideas for the plan tonight as well, along with setting them forth before sunset," Timothy howled, baring his white teeth at the other two.

Later that night, Rekall had thought up a brilliant plan. Rekall would break out of his cage and talk to the dragon. Although the dragon couldn't move his lips, Rekall had the ability to speak through telekinesis. He would negotiate his plans with the dragon. Rekall was going to risk his life in the process, but he knew what had to be done.
"Dante and Timothy, make sure you get all of the animals out of the dragon as fast as you can. Make this your best effort, and do not give up on me," confirmed Rekall.
"What about you?" Dante passed the question by, the only one Rekall didn't want to answer.
"I'm going to go down with her," Rekall knew he had to explain no further.
Timothy couldn't hold in his emotions, "What? You can't kill yourself Rekall! We need you!"
"You need me now more than ever, and I am willing to die to for my friends. Like you said, we can't save every soul, right?" Rekall uttered, a tear sliding down his cheek. Though tears streamed from his eyes, his true sense of mind showed no emotions. He was simply going to die and if he knew the pain would end, this is what he wanted.

In one hour, the plan was put in motion. Dante and Timothy were ready to evacuate and open every last cage in the room. Rekall had opened their three cages and had already spoken his plan to the dragon. As the crashes and bangs took place Jennifer was awoken. She was baffled by the animals actions but was ready to attack. She grabbed a needle, ready for a fight. As she moved forward, all the animals had already been evacuated. They all turned at the sudden yip of a dog. Rekall had jumped on Jennifer, and she had stuck him with the needle. The last scene visible to the other animals was the needle stabbing into Rekall's side before the mouth of the dragon shut tight.
The last bit of joy from the group of freed animals turned to sudden anguish as both of them had went down in the belly of the beast. Dante and Timothy fell down, no strength left in them. They had just watched their friend, their hero, being murdered and then eaten right in front of their eyes. They could not take in what had just happened. All the animals had become distressed and rain began to poor down. For what seemed like hours the animals all huddled together and just broke down.
But suddenly the mouth began to open. Dante and Timothy looked up, a small shimmer in their eyes. The dragon dropped Rekall onto the soil. Rekall had hit the dragon's ganglia and broke the grasp between him and Jennifer. He had fallen back onto the dragon's tongue, which soon after was when the dragon dropped Rekall out.
Dante and Timothy were unsure what to think until they saw Rekall. Completely motionless, the bedraggled body lay still, not a breath left into him. Tears streaked down their faces, and Timothy lifted up his head to howl. All the animals screeched, howled, meowed, and called. They all lifted their heads high, calling to the heavens to bring their hero from the dead and let him live. As if their calls were heard, a small seem of light squeezed through the clouds and shined right onto Rekall. "Y-you guys?" He murmured, his eyes slightly opening.
Timothy's howl was broke and he smiled, breaking down into tears once more, "Rekall!" He cheered, his tail beating for the first time in a long while. Dante and Timothy went in for a hug and held Rekall tight. The other animals cheered and howled, the rain beginning to clear up. Rekall was surprised he was alive, for only seconds ago he was not. Something had stopped his journey to the heavens and now he knew. He knew that friendship had saved him, and that he had two pals that would be with him for the rest of eternity, no matter how long that lasted.
Featuring Timothy and Dante and Rekall!

The name and dragon head idea were from my teacher, so yes this was for school. But I love the story ;O;
